Q Builders was formed in 1988, doing custom remodeling and residential trim carpentry. In 1992, during the construction of a private residence in Huntington, VT, we had to choose a monogram for a free checking account at Chittenden National Bank. "Q" and "Z" were both considered, but "Q" won out. Ever since, when asked, we tell them "Q stands for a Good Job."
Since 1995, we have been building virtually,as well. We have created custom databases and web sites for clients as diverse as tree seed companies and not-for-profit trade groups. With expertise in graphics, HTML, and various database and computer languages, Q Builders can deliver customized solutions for anyone.
Since 2003, our president, Ethan MacCormick, has been working with Performance Systems Development, Inc. of Ithaca, NY, working to address energy efficiency in residential construction. PSD helps define policy and establish standards on a regional and national scale. We create software solutions for the implementation of Energy Ratings, Home Performance, and Conference management. PSD's companion company, Performance Systems Contracting, Inc. is a leader in energy efficiency remodeling and quality energy ratings, in central New York State.
